The Christopher Berg Guitar Award is given annually to honor the undergraduate guitar student best exhibiting qualities of creativity, humility, perseverance, and improvement in their study of the guitar and music performance.

Recipients:


In 2008 the award was presented to Amber Smith of Costa Rica. Ms. Smith is currently pursuing an M.M. degree in Guitar Performance at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.

The 2007 recipient was Casey Smith of Atlanta, Georgia. Mr. Smith (no relation to above) has recently completed his M.M. degree in Guitar Performance at the Peabody Conservatory of Music.

The first presentation of this award was made in April of 2006 to Henry Anderson of Spartanburg, SC and Gray Sutton of Southern Pines, NC.
